The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent unit established by law which is responsible for promoting economy, efficiency, and effectiveness and detecting and preventing fraud, waste, and mismanagement in the General Services Administrations (GSA) programs and operations. Our mission is to help the GSA to effectively carry out its responsibilities and to protect the public interest by bringing about positive changes in the performance, accountability, and integrity of GSA programs and operations.We meet our mission through:
•Independent audits and reviews of contracts, data and financial systems, information technology, and programs.
•Criminal and civil investigations.
•Reviews of proposed legislation and regulations.
•Consultation with GSA, Congressional, and law enforcement officials.
GSA OIG’s main office is in Washington, D.C. We have regional offices in:Atlanta, GA; Auburn, WA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Fort Worth, TX; Kansas City, MO; Laguna Niguel, CA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Sacramento, CA; San Francisco, CA, and the Washington, D.C. area.
