About the Position:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Accountant generates financial reports, processes payroll and completes other related accounting, human resources and bookkeeping tasks. This position works closely on general accounting procedures to close out and reconcile the books each month and also at the end of the fiscal year. Some payroll and human resources tasks are also required.

Your Role:
• Assist in statutory fillings with independent consultants (annual audit, 990, etc.)
• Overseeing financial transactions to maintain accuracy of invoicing for YSC programs using QuickBooks
• Check, code, enter and pay vendor invoices
• Prepare bank deposits and records in QuickBooks
• Reconcile grant receivables, petty cash account, monthly bank checking and saving statements
• Assist in the fiscal management and organization of all YSC financial accounts
• Work closely with Executive Director to prepare, maintain and regulate annual program budgets
• Maintain accurate records of paid invoices and deposits
• Oversee payroll and time management operations with ADP
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls and financial policies and procedures
• Be proactive in developing, enhancing and moving forward financial improvements

Qualifications:

Your Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or related field required
• Professional knowledge of Excel, Quickbooks and ADP payroll services
• Organized, punctual, detailed driven and able to meet deadlines
• Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Experience working with non-profit programs and accounting maintenance
• Must be comfortable working in a team environment and individually
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Prefer individual with flexibility and initiative
