Business Development Intern (CABO)

Description:
Take a look at the big picture for the organization and develop strategies that will make the organization stronger. Throughout the internship you will conduct research in a number of ways in order to answer the questions: What should the organization be doing to diversify its income streams? How can the organization maximize income? What steps does the organization need to take to strengthen its constituent base? Key areas of focus will be branding, membership development, analysis of programs and services and their profitability, and sponsorship development. Work independently from your location while collaborating with staff, volunteers, and interns as necessary. Intern will be working with the Connecticut Alliance for Business Opportunities, an LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
Qualifications:
Organized, detail-oriented, and great at thinking on their feet. Please have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfort and proficiency with technology like e-mail, the Internet, MS Office, and have the willingness to learn user-friendly software. Must have experience in business development. Able to multi-task and work independently. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to attend phone meetings a few times a week to conduct interviews and meet with staff. Being adaptable to changes in projects and priorities as required.
