Marine Conservation Internship in the Sapodilla Cayes, Belize

Description:
Intern in the Sapodilla Cayes in Belize and help to repair reefs damaged by the introduction of the invasive lion fish species. You will earn your PADI Open Water certification if you dont already have it, and if you do have it you will earn your Advanced certification.You will take part in dives every day in order to do conservation work, and might also take part in the spearfishing of lion fish. You will work on monitoring of the lobster population, as well as migration of conch, the health of reefs, and identification of whale sharks.
Interns will also work on a report for the fisheries department as this internship works hand in hand with the department in order to provide essential information needed to make marinek, ecological and environmental decisions in the region.
Qualifications:
A background in fisheries, environmental science, wildlife science, conservation etc is desired, as well as the desire and ability to take part in diving conservation work.
