Communications and Development Intern

The Communications and Development Intern will work with our team out of the Oakland office near Fruitvale Bart. As the intern you will be supporting both the Communications and Development Departments. The intern will report directly to the Database and Event Administrative Assistant.Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to the following
- Assist with general duties needed by the Development Department (mailings, events, research, data entry, database clean up, campaign logistics).
-Lead the effort to establish and maintain an organizational Facebook Page and LinkedIn Page.
- Launch and update an organizational Chronicles page for California Primary Care Association
-Lead the effort to compile La Clinica’s historical archives and begin to “tell the story” of La Clinica.
-Assist in planning press conferences, rallies and other related events based upon political climate. Research current health related topics in the media and track media coverage about La Clinica.
-Assist in writing articles for the quarterly newsletter, press releases, Op Ed pieces and other related materials.
- Provide support on additional marketing and communications projects, as needed.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Candidate must have exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills. Knowledge of social media tools and fundraising or other database experience. Candidate should have the ability to multi-task and be a team player.Requirements: We are a health center and therefore require certain health clearances prior to being on site. These include but are not necessarily limited to: Current MMR (RRV Titer) and PPD Skin Test (within the last year), these can be arranged with HR if considered for volunteer role.
