YSA – the global organization that improves communities by increasing the number and the diversity of young people serving in substantive roles – is seeking Grants interns who will work with the Grants Team to:
• Analyze grantee reports to determine trends and best practices
• Review grant applications and train external, volunteer reviewers
• Reach out to grantees to create stories about their project and experience
• Work within YSA’s online grant management system and become familiar with using an online database
• Facilitate an assessment of our grant application development process

Full-time or part-time internship positions are available. Applicants may be graduate or undergraduate students and should be able to commit to 15-20 hours per week. This internship position is unpaid.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have:
• Strong research skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Experience working as part of a dynamic and motivated team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
• Interest in learning how to work within a grant database (training will be provided)
• Willingness to provide administrative help to support YSA staff
• Ability to work as part of a small team
• Detail-oriented and thoroughness in the quality of your work
