Description:

The Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) is seeking a Summer Intern. We would prefer someone who could work 2-3 days per week this Summer in the FOSI Washington, DC office, but are flexible on dates and hours. We are happy to work with any college/university to grant internship credit upon request.

Interns would research budding trends in the Internet industry and technology policy, help with social media, write blog posts for our Good Digital Parenting initiative, attend and report on special events, such as research presentations, government workshops as well as other speeches on the Hill and around the D.C. area.

This position is unpaid, but we will provide a travel and lunch subsidy.

Tasks may include researching and organizing information on developments in online safety and privacy, including sexting, cyber-bullying, data protection, broadband responsibility, social media trends, and digital citizenship.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

-Help execute FOSIs social media strategy
-Blog for the Good Digital Parenting section of the website
-Research global developments as well as developments in online safety and privacy
-Help create How To online safety tutorials for parents for our our YouTube channel
-Preparing briefing documents and background information
-Tracking legislation and emerging policy issues
-Assisting with special projects that help parents, teens and teachers get the most out of the Internet
-Help with FOSI events
