The U.S. Corporates Leveraged Finance team at Fitch Ratings has an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate student to gain real world experience in corporate credit analysis and exposure to the debt capital markets. As a Corporates intern, the candidate will work closely with the Leveraged Finance team and other members of U.S. Corporates, providing meaningful contributions to published reports in addition to developing financial statement analysis and credit analysis skills. The internship position is demanding as it involves significant high level work and expectations are on par with that of a new junior analyst.

Job Description
*Populate databases and analyze corporate financial statements, industry data, and market data through
third party data providers and publicly available SEC documents;
*Perform analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the credit quality of a large
debt issuer through the creation of a full credit opinion package;
*Present a rating recommendation to a committee of senior analysts within the department;
*Contribute to analytical roles in the production process of the Leveraged Finance Weekly;
*Support the build out of leveraged finance research reports through documentation and analysis of high yield bond and leveraged loan market activity;
*Assist in the development of database infrastructure and department-wide analytical tools;
*Provide ad hoc support for U.S. Corporates research and other internal initiatives through a number of industries and subsectors.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess excellent organization and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Coursework in financial statement analysis preferred. This opportunity is for current junior level students (2016 seniors).
