Description:

The Intern will report directly to the Tenant Organizing Program Manager and will be responsible for working with an experienced team to help implement the following activities:
• Outreach and education to tenants at risk of displacement through door to door outreach, neighborhood trainings and written materials;
• Assist tenant organizers in forming and strengthening tenant associations through facilitation and interpretation support
• Support tenant leaders with assistance in developing testimony and preparing for events
• Develop social media content and expand followers
• Related administrative duties

Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Strong writing, interpersonal, public speaking and computer skills.
• Highly organized individual who is able to work with limited supervision.
• Strong knowledge of and sensitivity to Latino, African and African American culture.
• Flexibility and willingness to work after normal business hours multiple times during the week including occasional work on Saturdays.
• This is a full-time, unpaid internship that requires evening and occasional Saturday hours.
• This is a very active position that includes traveling throughout DC and extensive community outreach particularly in affordable apartment buildings.
• Flexible start and end dates, sensitive to student schedules.
