This opportunity will allow you to gain broad exposure to state-of-the-art commercial 4G LTE wireless communications products. In this position, you will be part of the talented engineering team responsible for the industry leading LTE-Advanced performance test solution. The products produced by this team cover every layer of LTE from the Radio and PHY and MAC layers all the way to the applications that make leading smartphones so versatile and indispensable. You will have the opportunity to be mentored by software and hardware engineers in every discipline including FGPA development, signal processing, real-time software development, systems architecture and user interfaces. The position will be limited only by your own talents and may include activities such as MATLAB modeling, integration testing, software design, protocol analysis, RF analysis and quality assurance.
The responsibilities for this position will vary depending on a candidates background and knowledge, but will include one or more of the following:
• Developing or extending models for specific LTE transmissions using MATLAB
• Using advanced RF and signal analysis test equipment for systems performance characterization and analyzing for improvements
• Developing test infrastructure for automation of testing for Ixia LTE-Advanced products
• Working closely in an agile development environment to conceive, design, implement and test advanced LTE features and functions
• Analysis of real-world issues in applications such as the new frontier of voice over a cell phone using VoLTE technology, or supporting technologies like RoHC, SPS, DRx, TTI Bundling, encryption, SIP and more

Qualifications:

• Candidate for MSEE preferred
• Strong academic knowledge of Wireless Communications including Protocols, Signal Processing and RF
• Understanding of Linux/Unix environments. Ability to use Linux at the command line is essential.
• Lab or internship experience with MATLAB and a demonstrated proficiency with coding in MATLAB
• Proficiency in Perl Scripting
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• LTE technology knowledge a plus.
• Passionate with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work independently
• Very good verbal and written communication skills in the English language
• Expected Duration: minimum of 6 months
