Out of School Time Intern-Enrichment Zones

•Learn teaching and tutoring techniques•Work with cutting edge technology to enhance teaching skills
•Assist in developing best practices for youth programming and literacy education.
•Assist in delivering and creating enrichment activities for students
Enrichment Zones is an enhanced homework help program in which children receive daily tutoring from professionals, improve academic skills through educational software, and participate in fun enrichment literacy activities. Team members will help develop and present hands-on activities that spark students’ interest in academic topics and assist in programmatic operation at library sites as needed. Locations: Seward, Inwood, Mott Haven, High Bridge, Port Richmond.
Qualifications:
•Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in an approved degree program at an accredited institution•Strong interest in urban youth education services.
•Ability and interest to learn educational, cutting edge technology
•Interest in developing early literacy
•Demonstrated interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
•Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word and social media
•A minimum of 1 semester is requested.
•The OST department requires team members to work a minimum of 6 hours per week (2 afternoons)
•It is the responsibility of applicants to retrieve information from their school concerning possible academic credit.
•Must pass criminal background check
