DescriptionAs a Crime in America Fellow you will gain a wealth of experience reporting on the nation’s top crime trends, analyzing data, and creating a variety of graphic visualizations of your coverage. Be a part of the team that publishes the incredibly popular and highly regarded Safest and Most Dangerous Cities rankings. For an example of prior work in this section, see Law Street’s Crime in America 2015 and Killers of Craigslist coverage, all of which has been featured by any other media outlets, including the Huffington Post. You will get hands-on, ground-level experience working in a journalistic startup environment.
Qualifications:
QualificationsThe successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with experience in a creative, dynamic professional environment. Experience with WordPress, some data analysis, and strong journalistic writing skills are a must. Deep interest in law, public policy, and current events, as well as a creative, entrepreneurial spirit are essential. This fellowship is open to college students. The 10-week summer program runs full time Monday through Friday beginning Monday, June 1, 2015 and ending Friday, August 7, 2015.
