LifeSpan Resources of Texas is a premier home and community based services program that serves individuals and families with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We understand the challenges and obstacles that often seem overbearing to those with such disabilities.

Our organization is founded and managed by individuals with an extensive background in healthcare, social service, rehabilitation, finance and customer service. It is our goal to merge healthcare and customer service that is measurable, resident centered and improves overall outcomes.

LifeSpan has expanded from Dallas into Corpus Christi and El Paso, recently making its way into the Mount Vernon area. We plan to reach New Mexico and Oklahoma by the end of 2014! We are seeking a Software Developer to implement over time, a departmentalized software to manage our Electronic Health Records including daily, hourly, minute changes and updates.

The software will include separate departments and individual employee access. Each employee should have their own access credentials and document storage as well as shared documents with a predetermined department. Security, Encryption and HIPAA Compliance will be the biggest concern. Software should be web accessible through a VPN connection to pre-configured computers and mobile devices.

Qualifications:

We are looking for confidence. Experience is not required but the know-how and drive are required. We currently have an IT Director you will be collaborating with to accomplish our goals. It would be a big plus if you were willing to be a part of IT Support as well; remove a virus, set up an Outlook account, troubleshoot a slow computer or no internet connection, etc.

Additional Info:

Day-to-day tasks will begin with shadowing each employee in the company from our Consumers level to our Corporate level. You should document and organize documentation of employee tasks, paperwork completed and write down anything the employee thinks could benefit being included in their department. Over the course of your internship, you should be able to determine which features should be incorporate into the software and provide project deadline dates for which features can be implemented immediately into our field work.
