Description:
Join a small team of your friends, family, and other volunteers to collect bugs from streams across the watershed!Meet your team onsite at the first of two sampling locations. One person will arrive with all of the equipment you need to get started. At each site, you search through stones, leaves, and sediment to find bugs in their natural habitat.
Each team includes an experienced volunteer who has been trained in sample collection. Only trained volunteers go in the water to collect the samples. Dress to be comfortable outside for a few hours. Children are welcome to attend with an adult. You must register early to be assigned to a team!

HRWC concentrates on four main areas of concern.1. Watershed Science: HRWC runs several scientific programs designed to gauge the health of the land and water throughout the watershed.
2. Watershed Management: This is the area where watershed science meets watershed policy. HRWC engages in a number of projects to utilize data on the health of the watershed and its component parts to focus on key stressors and develop and then implement management plans to address problems.
3. Education and Stewardship: HRWC works to inspire change in attitudes and actions of the residents of the Huron River Watershed. We desire to show residents that their actions can make a difference for the watershed, both positively and negatively!
