The Institute for Research on Male Supremacism (IRMS) is seeking a paid intern to support the work of the executive director approximately 5 hours/week. We are seeking a candidate with a strong interest in learning about and challenging male supremacist and misogynist mobilizations. The intern will work directly with the executive director providing support in a variety of areas as needs arise, including updating the website, social media, graphic design, editing/copyediting, fundraising, research, building bibliographies, blogging, and other tasks. The position is virtual, though being located in the Bay Area is a plus.

About the Institute

IRMS is committed to exposing and challenging common narratives that provide shelter to male supremacist movements, advancing new theoretical understandings and practical analyses of contemporary threats, and providing resources for media and activists to improve their ability to challenge male supremacism and misogyny. We bring together experts from both inside and outside of academia to analyze and expose the dangers of misogynist ideology and mobilization. IRMS recognizes the value of intersectional scholarship and seeks to understand male supremacism in terms of how it interacts with white supremacist, anti-Semitic, anti-gay and anti-trans ideologies, as well as other supremacist and prejudiced ideologies that target vulnerable populations.
