Location: New York, NY
Hours/Days Per Week: 2-3 days/week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Length of Assignment: Three Months, starting in September 2014
Preferred Degree: Communications/Journalism
Internship Description: Autism Speaks is not only the world’s leading autism advocacy and research organization, but we are also leading in content production surrounding autism news and events. As our communications and media teams have grown in size and scope, so have our needs for interesting and efficient digital content.The Social/Research intern will assist the Social Media Coordinator with research for blogging, posting news items, managing social networks and photo essays. They will also help with creating content for weekly blog series for our autismspeaks.org website.
Qualifications:
Related Skills and Knowledge
• Familiarity with social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine etc.)
• Competency with Journalism/news writing.
• Familiarity/comfort with photo editing, MS Word and basic HTML plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Computer (PC) proficiency and a familiarity with using Google Docs and spreadsheets
• Common knowledge of autism and non-profits preferred.
