Description:

Single Palm Tree Productions seeks a student of media, marketing or a similar field to join us as a Marketing Research Intern, coming on board at the ground level of an exciting new early-stage start up. The position will report directly to the Operations & Marketing Coordinator to support the growth of the organization, help identify key marketing and distribution strategies for the company’s content and conduct market research.

The Marketing Research Intern will have the following responsibilities:

• Research key marketing and distribution opportunities for a fall pitch competition and overall site content
• Conduct desktop and on-site youth market research focused on comedy & entertainment trends, as well as digital viewing behavior in the US
• Conduct research and assist curation of global pop culture video content
• Build out company blog and social media presence

Qualifications:

The best candidate for this position has the following qualities:

• Comfortable with constant evolution and fun ambiguity (this is a new start-up after all :))
• Has some knowledge of working in the marketing space – ideally with online video (through studies or a past internship)
• Is entering their Junior or Senior year of college
• Has some production experience – both video and digital
• Has some research experience
• Comfortable and experienced in managing multiple projects at once
• Strong interpersonal skills and highly professional – comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders
• Doesnt mind doing the little things, as well as the big profile projects
• Ability to work independently and pro-actively
• Detail-oriented and able to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Has ideally travelled outside of the US, for example across Latin America, South Asia or Africa
• Excited about changing perceptions and creating global connectedness
• Loves pop culture :)
• Super excited to learn, grow and break the mold on all things normal in the media & entertainment industry
