Internship Description: The Blogger Intern will identify appropriate content for the organization(s) blog(s). Identify appropriate blogging platforms, recommend a platform and once approved, set up the blog(s). Once established, create a blog personality that is consistent with the organization’s personality. Invite guest bloggers; research and identify online sources of information that would be resource for members, write commentary and provide links to this information; secure organizational information that would be appropriate for blogging from staff, volunteers, and other interns. Establish relationships with sister organizations, people in the industry/profession, consultants and speakers; track their contact information, and introduce the leadership of the organization(s) to those contacts so there is continuity with them for years to come. Work independently from your location while collaborating with staff, volunteers, and interns as necessary.

Qualifications:

Ideal Candidate: Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to be creative with writing. Please have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfort and proficiency with technology like e-mail, the Internet, MS Office, and have the willingness to learn user-friendly software. Able to multi-task and work independently. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to attend phone meetings a few times a week to meet with staff. Being adaptable to changes in projects and priorities as required.

If you are successful as an intern, you will receive a stellar letter of recommendation, contacts to people in high places for business opportunities, and coaching each week to help you reach your professional goals. Everything you create (that is not confidential) will be available to you for your professional portfolio and Accrete will help you arrange for academic credit if necessary.

Location: This is a virtual internship. All meetings will be held by phone or Skype.

Timeline: Approximately 10 hours a week for 15 weeks is standard. Exceptions can be made for summer sessions and extenuating situations.

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship, but the experience and contacts are potentially life-long.
