Do you tweet and use Facebook all the time? Is building social community so ingrained you just can’t stop? We seek a highly a motivated individual with experience and passion for blogging, micro- blogging and community participation leadership. This position is a volunteer part time position.

We are a Democratic Political Campaign for the Colorado State House of Representatives. Our goals are fighting to preserve all of our civil rights, focused on providing an excellent public education for the students of Colorado, and building a stronger community. A successful candidate will join our team working with all areas of the campaign.

Responsibilities
• Create a comprehensive social media strategy to define programs that use social media marketing techniques to increase visibility and traffic across all campaign sites and Implement and manage social media programs
• Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities
• Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications and appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use of social media in the campaign
• Strategize with and educate the team incorporating relevant social media techniques into the campaign culture
• Measure the impact of social media on the overall marketing efforts
• Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding our campaign, report to appropriate parties.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must support the goals of the campaign, and be willing to attend campaign functions when required
• Excels at research, possesses excellent writing skills and the ability to crank out blog posts without typos, spelling, or grammatical errors
• Proficient with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media channels. We’re looking for a social media addict who maintains a personal mix of participatory expertise from among these channels
• Brings to the position outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment
