1. Business degree or junior and senior year business student
2. Accounting experience preferred
3. Strong Google Drive and QuickBooks experience preferred, but not required
4. Ability to work in fast paced environment preferred

1. Gain a hands-on opportunity to learn about the non-profit financial environment and professionally work with managers
2. Develop an understanding of accounting in non-profit organization and the software the firm uses to prepare financial statements
3. Learn the process of documenting donations and expenses, and double-checking
4. Develop a skill set of gathering questions and asking appropriate personnel for assistance
5. Develop skills required to interact with other professionals throughout the company
6. Develop time management skillsWhat your duties are- RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure that all transactions (donations and expenses) are properly recorded on an accrual basis.
2. Research and resolve all issues identified and providing timely updates on issues until resolved
3. Conduct a monthly reconciliation on entity bank accounts
4. Record expenditures and internal reporting to management
5. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
6. Complete other projects as assigned or requested

Hands for Africa is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to alleviate the hardship of thousands of civil war victims in Sierra Leone. Due to the greed surrounding the blood diamond trade, thousands of Africans were maimed and raped, millions more were displaced, and others, even further impoverished. Although the ten-year war in Sierra Leone has ended, blood diamonds continue to be illegally bought, sold and traded. Hands for Africa was born with a mission to restore lost hope to the innocent. Our organization provides prosthetic devices for the maimed, micro-finance loans, educational scholarships and vocational training to establish self-reliance, clean water, medical aid, and improved living conditions.
